CORFU. Schools, associations, units of the Armed Forces, the Police, the Fire Department, as well as scouts paraded to the sound of marching band music, delighting those who attended.
Despite the poor weather conditions that prevailed on Wednesday morning, May 21, the parade celebrating the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece was once again held this year.
Schools, associations, units of the Armed Forces, the Police, the Fire Department, as well as scouts paraded to the sound of marching band music, delighting those who attended.
Also present were the local political, religious and military authorities, diplomatic representatives of foreign countries, while the government was represented by the Corfu ND MP and Deputy Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Stefanos Gikas.
