First Armed Forces Parade in Corfu for 50 years!
CORFU. The air display by the F-16 ΄Zeus΄ team took everyone΄s breath away with its impressive manoeuvres! Acrobatics with maximum G-forces and very close to the speed of sound!
Today's May 21st celebration for the 160th anniversary of the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece, offered an unforgettable experience.
With the government being represented by the Corfiot Minister of Defence Nikos Dendias, the traditional parade hosted a large contingent from the Army as well as aircraft from the Air Force.
In addition to the numerous military forces, 4 Apache helicopters and two Phantom aircraft also flew in the skies above Corfu.
Following the parade of the army and armoured vehicles, people gathered at Garitsa Bay to admire the aerobatic display of the F-16 aircraft from the 'Zeus' team, which took everyone's breath away with its impressive and demanding manoeuvres!
The events were attended by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, the Commander of the 8th Division, the Commander of the 3rd Army Corps, as well as a large army contingent.
