CORFU. At this time, there is no fire, but the surrounding roads are closed and the situation appears calmer, at least on the outside of the prison.
Police negotiators have arrived at the prison in order to communicate with the inmates who are protesting.

The trouble began on Tuesday morning, May 20, when inmates set fire to mattresses in the prison in protest.
Large forces from the police and Fire Department also arrived at the scene.
