Spanish TV programme “Viajeros Cuatro” in Corfu
CORFU. Filming took place with a focus on Corfu Old Town, highlighting its unique architecture, historical landmarks, local gastronomy and the island’s authentic daily life.
(Central Corfu Municipality) Yesterday, at the Old Town Hall, the Deputy Mayor for Sustainable Tourism Development and Public Relations, Spyros Chalikiopoulos, welcomed the team behind the Spanish television programme “Viajeros Cuatro,” one of the most popular travel shows in Spain, which airs on the national channel Cuatro, and is a member of the major television group Mediaset Group.
The filming took place with a focus on Corfu Old Town of , highlighting its unique architecture, historical landmarks, local gastronomy, and the island’s authentic daily life.
The programme also visited sites of significant interest, such as Mon Repos, Paleokastritsa, the Vlacherna Monastery, and areas of exceptional natural beauty.
The Deputy Mayor presented to the reporter Marina Romero, the comparative advantages of Corfu as a tourist destination, showcasing the island’s blend of culture, history, and heritage. He stated:
"We are particularly pleased with the upward trend of the Spanish market in Corfu. The Spanish are an outgoing people, with a vibrant temperament, that matches perfectly with ours – we share common values, a love for life, culture and tradition."
Finally, the Deputy Mayor thanked the members of the television production for choosing Corfu as a destination for their show and stated that exposure through major television networks strengthens Corfu’s position as an attractive, authentic and high-quality destination.
