North Corfu: Contract signed for construction of indoor sports facility

CORFU. The contract provides for a budget of approximately 500,000 euros, while the contractor is responsible for supplying the dome as well as constructing the facility.

The Municipality of North Corfu announced the signing of a contract with the company “Ergodiastasi” for the supply and installation of an air-supported dome (of the “balloon” type), with the aim of constructing an indoor sports facility.

The contract was signed on Wednesday, April 23, and the project will be carried out on municipal land that was donated by Konstantinos Mahimaris in the Roda Karousades area.

Enimerosi contacted the Mayor of North Corfu, who informed us that the contract provides for a budget of approximately 500,000 euros. The contractor is responsible for both supplying the dome and constructing the facility. As he stated, the facility will be licensed by the General Secretariat of Sports for competitions up to the B’ Division.

Technical specifications included in the contract:

  • Air-supported dome with dimensions 34m x 29m x 9m

  • Volleyball court

  • Basketball court

  • Track & field area

  • Sports stands with a capacity of 300 seats

  • Heating system

In a statement released by the Municipality, the Mayor of North Corfu stated:

We sincerely thank the donor of the land for his generous and kind gesture. We are moving at a rapid pace toward the construction of the 2nd Indoor Sports Facility of the Municipality of North Corfu.”
