Cooperation agreement between Central Corfu Municipality and animal welfare organisations

CORFU. The Cooperation Agreement aims to strengthen collaboration for the protection and well-being of stray animals, adoption, the promotion of responsible pet ownership, and raising awareness in the local community.
(Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality) On Thursday, April 3, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands and the Animal Welfare Associations, KEPZ,The Ark and Yiotheto.
This agreement represents a significant step in strengthening actions for the protection and well-being of animals and fostering collaboration between municipal authorities and animal welfare organisations for the effective care of stray animals in the area.
The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Health and Head of the Primary Sector, Spyros Galanis, as well as municipal officials from the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands.
The Cooperation Agreement aims to enhance collaboration for the protection and well-being of stray animals, promote adoption, encourage responsible pet ownership, and raise awareness within the local community. Additionally, it provides for the reinforcement of efforts to address the large number of stray animals, with the support of animal welfare associations and cooperation with municipal authorities for the implementation of appropriate policies.
Collaboration with animal welfare associations is of critical importance for the protection of animals on our island. Through this agreement, we are strengthening our efforts to improve the lives of stray animals and ensure their well-being.
This partnership is expected to yield significant results in enhancing animal protection, increasing public awareness, and ensuring proper conditions for animal welfare throughout the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands.
