Sinies Cultural Society to take part in Greek Diaspora parade in New York
NEW YORK. They will take part in the 25th March national anniversary parade.
(Sinies Cultural Society) Following an invitation from the Ionian Cultural Federation of America, Sinies Cultural and Educational Society is honoured and delighted to participate in the events of the Greek diaspora in New York, celebrating Greek Independence from March 25 to April 1, 2025.
This marks the first time that the Sinies Cultural Society will visit America with its Dance Group, consisting of 34 members.
On Friday, March 28, the group will attend the official doxology at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas, which has been built at the historic "Ground Zero" site. Following this, they will participate in the raising of the Greek flag at Bowling Green.
On Sunday, March 30, they will attend the Archieratic Doxology at the Holy Trinity Church, presided over by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. Subsequently, they will take part in the grand anniversary parade of the Greek diaspora on the renowned 5th Avenue, which will be honoured, as always, by a detachment of the Presidential Guard.
The Society's delegation will be accompanied by the North Corfu Deputy Mayor of Finance and Administration, Ioannis Garnelis, North Corfu Head of Culture, Theodoros Mavronas, a representative of the Corfu Chamber of Commerce, Sofronios Splagounias, and members of the Society's Board of Directors.
The Society would like to express its gratitude to our fellow countryman from North Corfu, Nikos Bardis, for his hospitality, and to Spyridoula Tsoukala for organising the trip.
