(Ionian Islands Regional Authority) The participation of the Ionian Islands Region in the International Tourism Exhibition "F.RE.E. 2025," held in Munich from February 19 to 24, was a great success.
As part of the implementation of its 2025 tourism promotion programme, the Ionian Islands Region participated in this major tourism exhibition after many years, with its own independent and modernly designed 25-square-metre booth.
The exhibition, hosted at the Messe München exhibition centre, is considered Bavaria’s largest multi-theme tourism and leisure fair, with a particular focus on alternative activities such as cycling, hiking, agritourism, water sports, and more. "F.RE.E." allows for direct bookings of holidays and trips worldwide, and this year’s event saw high attendance. According to the organisers, the exhibition welcomed more than 145,000 visitors, with 1,015 exhibitors and tourism organisations from 50 countries.
The Ionian Islands Region’s independent booth attracted significant interest, as numerous visitors of all age groups learned about the Ionian Islands and expressed their enthusiasm. A large quantity of printed and digital promotional materials about the region and its islands was distributed at the booth, which was also visited by the Consul General of Greece in Munich, Konstantinos Kodellas. The Ionian Islands Region was represented by the Deputy Regional Governor for Social Policy, Solidarity & Voluntary Work, Theodoros Kontzialis.
The organisation and support of the Ionian Islands booth were overseen by the Director of Tourism, Culture & Sports, Magdalini Louvrou, and the Head of the Tourism Department of Corfu’s Regional Unit, Giorgos Papavlasopoulos.
