Bringing an end to water supply issue in Perama

The third borehole is being completed, with the hope that this is, at least for this year, the last step and the water supply issue in Perama will be resolved. It is being done in the wider area, and according to DIADEYAK, it will add enough water to make up for the daily shortfall, thus eliminating the prolonged outages.
The situation is as follows: In the Perama/Gastouri area, there are about 8,000-8,500 residents, both locals and visitors. Water consumption increases during the summer months, and this year was no exception, which led to higher water demand. Two new boreholes were dug, with the second one initially yielding around 110 cubic meters. However, its flow was rapidly reduced to 65 cubic metres, which caused more cuts in water supply.
DIADEYAK proceeded with a third borehole in Zougra Kinopiastes (photo), where it found water but efforts were briefly halted due to a disagreement with the landowner.The dispute was settled, and today (27/9), the borehole is expected to be completed and connected to the network, adding around 35-40 cubic metres, bringing to an end to the suffering of both locals and visitors in the area.
