Four-month extension for DIADEYAK – Mayor Poulimenos appointed interim president
CORFU. It has also been clarified that the positions of President of the Board of Directors of the Nursing Home, the Orphanage, as well as DIMOP ΄N. Moros΄, are honorary and unpaid.
The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands issued an announcement regarding the extension of DIADEYAK's operation and the appointment of Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos as the interim President of the enterprise, stating the following:
"The Municipal Council of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, by a large majority, decided to extend the operation of DIADEYAK for four months, from July 1st to October 31st, in light of the decision by the Municipality of South Corfu to withdraw and establish its own Water and Sewerage Company (DEYA).
The Municipal Council accepted the Mayor’s proposal highlighting the need to allow sufficient preparation time for the establishment and operation of the new water utility in South Corfu.
For this four-month period, the Council approved the proposal for the Mayor himself to serve as interim President.
It should be noted that the Mayor will not receive any additional compensation from DIADEYAK for these duties.
On this occasion, it is also clarified that the positions of President of the Board of Directors of the Nursing Home, the Orphanage, as well as DIMOP 'N. Moros', are honorary and unpaid."
