Appeal from DIADEYAK for public to be careful in their water consumption
CORFU. "We are appealing to consumers to be careful and limit their use of water as much as possible."
DIADEYAK has issued an announcement concerning the water scarcity problem that is also affecting Corfu. In it, there is a reminder of the general consumption restriction measures and the need to use water resources prudently.
"Our island is also facing an acute water scarcity problem due to prolonged drought, changes in climatic conditions, and the increased demand for water supply.
We would like to remind you that the water provided by DIADEYAK is intended for drinking water needs, not for irrigation, and its use by consumers should be done with caution.
We remind you of the measures that have been taken to restrict general consumption and provide information, such as:
- The prohibition of filling private swimming pools with water from the DIADEYAK water supply network.
- All consumers must limit the use of water from the water supply network to only their domestic needs and avoid wasting it on activities such as watering, street and yard sprinkling, washing cars, and other similar uses.
- Hospitality businesses should inform their customers about the need to conserve water.
Finally, considering the peak tourist activity these days, it is easy to understand that the problem of maintaining a smooth and continuous water supply is worsening. Therefore, we are appealing to consumers to be careful and limit their use of water as much as possible."
