Driver, 21, who abandoned partner following accident arrested
CORFU. The woman is hospitalised with head injuries.
The 21-year-old British driver who abandoned his injured partner early on Friday morning on the road at the Emporiko Kentro, following a motorcycle accident, has been arrested by Traffic Police.
According to reports, the man got up and left the scene with the motorcycle after the accident, leaving his British partner bleeding, after having sustained a head injury from the fall.
The woman was eventually taken by ambulance to Corfu Hospital, which had been called by passersby who found her lying on the road.
Reports indicate that she received stitches on her face and remains in the hospital. After a search by the police, the driver was located and is being held by Traffic Police, who are conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.
