Alleged abuse of girl, 15, at Orphanage reported to police

CORFU. An investigation is being conducted by Corfu Police Department.

On Thursday evening, 30 May, police received a report of domestic bodily harm against an underage girl.

A 17-year-old girl went to the police station and reported that her younger sister, 15 years old, had been a victim of abuse at the Corfu Orphanage by a psychologist and a social worker. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, 29 May.

The 15-year-old girl was transferred by order of the Prosecutor to Corfu Hospital for protective custody. There, she will be examined by a child psychologist and a medical examiner.

An investigation is being conducted by Corfu Police Department.
