CORFU. In the next few days it will go online for testing - Available to the public within the month.

The "Kerkyra On" platform, which will replace the Central Corfu Municipality Novoville platform, is expected to be operational within the next few days. The Meropi Ydraiou's party requested information on the commencement of operations and the actions taken to date during the accountability meeting held on Monday night.

The competent Deputy Mayor of Administration, Planning, and European Programmes, Nikos Vradis, said that on 29/12/23, a contract was signed for the provision of software services for registering citizens' requests and complaints via the web and smartphones with the new company Crowdpolicy Digital Participatory Services IKE, with a total expenditure of 8,109 Euros. The contract is valid for one year.

The assignment concerns the use and operation of a specialised online communication system for recording and monitoring citizens' requests and interaction between the Municipality and citizens through smartphones and the web used by the Directorate of Operational Projects. The system allows citizens to submit requests for the settlement of issues concerning town issues.

Citizens can report everyday problems and be updated on their resolution status, express their grievances about significant issues, and have access to other available online services.

Pending Issues

The previous municipal authority of Meropi Ydraiou had signed a contract on 4/6/2020 with the Novoville platform. As the Deputy Mayor mentioned, the new municipal authority chose this specific company due to a lower bid; hence, a series of actions were required to prepare for the operation of the new application. Necessary information exchanges between the old and new companies followed to transfer pending requests to the new platform. Additionally, the deletion of requests from the old platform was requested in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

After the configuration and training of the staff were completed, the new platform is expected to enter a pilot trial phase in the next few hours so that later in March, it will be ready and available to the public.
