New autonomous North Corfu Water Supply and Sewerage Company now official
CORFU. The final step in its establishment was published in the Government Gazette, following a series of actions that took place after the initial publication in the Government Gazette on December 31, 2023.

This was preceded by the approval of the economic study by the Municipal Council of North Corfu, as well as the approval of Central Corfu for withdrawal from the intermunicipal DIADEYADK.
According to the Government Gazette, the Water Supply and Sewerage Company of the Municipality of North Corfu is governed by an eleven-member Administrative Board, appointed by the municipal council with its deputies, consisting of the Mayor or the appointed councillor as President and six (6) additional elected representatives of the Municipality, four (4) of whom belong to the majority party.
In addition to the elected representatives of the Municipality, as aforementioned, the Administrative Board also includes, with their deputies, one (1) member as a representative of the employees in the enterprise, designated by the most representative trade union organisation of the employees in the enterprise, or, if this doesn't exist, from the total number of employees in the enterprise, whom the President of the Administrative Board convenes for this purpose, one (1) member as a representative of an environmental or social organisation of the area, holding a degree from a Greek university or equivalent foreign institution, with proven experience or knowledge relevant to the subject matter of the enterprise, and two (2) citizens or permanent residents with proven experience or knowledge relevant to the enterprise.
The determination of the aforementioned environmental or social organisation and the verification of compliance with the conditions in the person of the proposed member by them, are made by decision of the municipal council. The Vice President is appointed at the first meeting of the Administrative Board by a vote among its members. In case of a tie, the President's vote prevails. The term of office of the members of the Administrative Board follows the term of the Municipal Council and ends with the installation of the new Administrative Board.
