CORFU. The sit-ins are continuing at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd High Schools, Kato Korakiana Vocational High School and Agros Junior High and High Schools.

Six Corfu schools remain closed, as pupils continue their sit-ins, with the main point of protest being the police intervention on 18/01 in schools with sit-ins and the bill for the establishment of non-state universities.

According to the Ionian Islands Regional Directorate of Education, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd High Schools, Kato Korakian Vocational High School, and Agros Junior High and High Schools remain closed.

Pupils are also demanding an increase in funding for schools, the abolition of the minimum entry base, and the elimination of the Bank of Subjects.

Already, in the occupied schools, distance learning has started for the conduct of lessons. However, the Teachers' Union (OLME) has declared a strike-abstention from distance learning in the occupied schools, pointing out that educators are not obliged to provide remote education in the occupied school units.
