CORFU. The residents of the village have a problem with the behaviour of the priest and with changes he has made to the church without their consent.

An issue has arisen recently in Stroggyli between the village residents and the parish priest. The residents have a problem with the behaviour of the priest and with changes he has made to the church without their consent. The increasing tension between the two sides led the residents to hold a protest rally at the offices of the Metropolitan Church in Platitera, with the main demand being the removal of the parish priest, in order to "restore normalcy to the parish."

Enimerosi contacted the president of Stroggyli local council, Spyros Bogdos, who told us that the priest's behaviour has led the majority of the village to stop attending church. Additionally, he stated that the priest has made changes to the interior of the church without the village's consent.

Furthermore, according to Mr. Bogdos, the priest dissolved the church council and prohibited the cantor from singing in another church.

Village resident Popi Bogdou, said that the protest is also a show of support for their fellow villagers, members of the church council, who were removed.
