CORFU. The protest took place at the former Psychiatric Clinic.

A protest gathering and march towards the town centre took place on Thursday morning, January 11. Students and members of educators' unions participated, reacting to the draft law regarding private universities. The gathering took place at the former Psychiatric Clinic.

Their demands, as stated by ELME (Teachers' Union) include, :

Exclusively public and free education and modern studies.
Opposition to the abolition of Article 16 - no to private universities.
Elimination of any business activity in education.
Increase in state funding for education to meet our needs.
Degrees with value - the sole prerequisite for professional practice. Abolition of Law 4589/19.
Jobs for all - employment with rights. Permanent status for all supply teachers.
