Hunger strike at Corfu Prison

The abstention from use of the canteen by all inmates in Corfu Prison has evolved into a hunger strike.

This protest began about a week ago, against the conditions of detention, the food, etc. However, it seems that the cause originates from the hardening of the prison administration's stance regarding the granting of scheduled leave and the suspension of the conditional dismissal process. According to information received, this is due to the lack of specialised personnel, social workers, psychologists, and other such specialties that are necessary in the conditional dismissal process.
