Central Corfu Municipality wins awards at OTA Awards 2019-2023

CORFU. For beach accessibility and for the disabled-friendly routes in the Corfu Old Town.

The ceremony of the Local Authorities (OTA) Awards 2019-2023 was held last week at the Zappeion Palace.

66 Municipalities and 5 Regions from all over Greece received awards for their actions and projects for the citizens during the four-year period, contributing to the development of local authorities. The nominations were selected amongst dozens of proposals submitted by municipalities from all over the country and were evaluated by a 100-member jury consisting of academics and representatives of the political and business world.

The awards that the Central Corfu Municipality won in the category of Social Solidarity is the recognition of the work done in the Municipality:

1. Beach accessibility for people with disabilities

2. Disabled-friendly routes in the Corfu Old Town

The Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras received the awards.

After thanking the organisers, Mr. Skoupouras said that these awards are a recognition of the Municipality's effort and teamwork for the implementation of projects and actions to improve the daily lives of citizens with disabilities, mobility difficulties and visual impairments, as well as to all citizens for their support in these efforts.
