Strong Corfu presence at 2023 Sailing Awards Ceremony

ATHENS. Yachts from NAOK, Gouvia Marina Sailing Club and Corfu Sailing Club were presented with awards at the Hellenic Sailing Federation special event held at the Eugenidio Foundation in Athens.

The Annual Ranking List 2023 awards ceremony of the Hellenic Sailing Federation (HSF) Racing Committee took place In the crowded hall of the Eugenidio Foundation, on Saturday evening, February 17th.

Crews from 10 Regions participating in the HSF, who distinguished themselves in competitions last year, were honoured at the special ceremony.

There was a strong Corfu presence, with yachts from NAOK, Gouvia Marina Sailing Club (IOMAG), and Corfu Sailing Club (IOΚ) being amongst the winners.

1st place in the ORCi 2023 ranking in the Ionian Region was awarded to the NAOK boat Feel Free with skipper Haris Zizis and crew Argyris Koulouris, Babis Savvanis, and Giorgos Latsas. 2nd place went to the IOMAG boat Rush with skipper Michalis Tsatsopoulos.

Feel Free also won third place in the nationwide 2023 Sportboat ranking.

The IOΚ yacht Cleopatra, with skipper Spyridonia Metallinou, secured 3rd place in the ORC Club category for the Ionian Region.

Additionally, the Corfu sailor Alexandros Raris participated and distinguished himself in the European ORC Championship in Malta with the boat Blue Line, representing a team from Kalamata. The Blue Line secured 4th place overall in category C and 1st place among non-professionals (Corinthians) in the same category.

The award ceremony took place in the presence of the General Secretary of the Aegean and Island Policy, Manolis Koutoulakis, the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Sailing Federation, and representatives of the Hellenic Coast Guard and the Hellenic Navy General Staff.
