EODY team meets with North Corfu Mayor

A team from EODY (National Public Health Organisation) and the Ionian Islands Regional Health Department met with the North Corfu Mayor at the Acharavi Town Hall to discuss prevention and response measures following the latest case of leptospirosis.
An EODY and Ionian Islands Regional Health Department team carried out an on-site inspection today in the suspected exposure area of the latest leptospirosis case in North Corfu.
The team, consisting of Giorgos Dougas and Asimina Malliaka from EODY, Eleni Delli from Corfu EODY, the Ionian Islands Regional Health Department head Yiannis Ligas and Christina Kazantzoglou, met with the North Corfu Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris and there was an update on the current situation.
The Ionian Islands Regional Authority, the North Corfu Municipality, the Corfu General Hospital and EODY, are proceeding immediately to the necessary actions and the measures to protect the population.
