New reports of scam incidents targeting large amounts of money
CORFU. Scammers are getting thousands of euros out of unsuspecting people.
Scammers are still taking amounts of several thousand euros out of unsuspecting citizens by using various tricks.
As the Regional Police Directorate announced, there have recently been reports of scam incidents either by phone or via the internet.
Specifically, in the first case, an unknown person called a citizen pretending to be an accountant, claimed that he is entitled to a specific allowance and managed to take €3,000 from his bank account.
In another case, an unknown person managed to take €3,224 from a citizen as a deposit for the sale of a car, for which they had posted an advertisement on social media, but without ever completing the sale.
