CORFU. Most of them are tourists.

People from Loutses and Perithia have been moved to the Town Hall and the old school in Acharavi following the evacuation order given via the 112 service for these areas.

According to the North Corfu Municipal Council President Panayiotis Papadatos, more than 200 people have been transferred to these two areas, all in good health. The Acharavi Primary School is also available to welcome people, if needed.

Mr. Papadatos, who is responsible for coordinating the transfers of people, told Enimerosi that the majority of them are tourists who were staying in villas in Loutses. Among them were families with children.

Employees from the municipality's 'Help at Home' programme are providing water and food, while all halls are air-conditioned.

"90% of the people arriving are tourists. They are not afraid, they follow the instructions," said Mr. Papadatos.

A Coast Guard boat is transferring people from Kalamaki and Apraos to Kassiopi.
