Free open-air cinemas in Central Corfu again this summer

Central Corfu Municipality is organising summer cinema evenings with free admission for the public for the fourth year running.
The call for expression of interest for the provision of film screening services, with a budget of 12,000 Euros (including 24% VAT), is currently underway, with a deadline of Tuesday, July 18.
The open-air cinema nights, titled 'Like the cinema pf old', are aimed at both children and adults. The initiative aims to support and showcase artistic creation, and provide entertainment and enjoyment to the public through a delightful summer experience, against the backdrop of the starry Corfiot sky.
In town and in the villages
A total of 20 cinema nights are planned for this year in selected locations in Corfu Town as well as in districts within the region. The programme will include children's films with substantial and significant messages, foreign-language social films, comedies, adventures and contemporary Greek films. The selection of films will be made by the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Chrysoula Tombrou, in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Education, Culture and Sports, as well as the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth.
Until 30 September
The screenings will take place from the signing of the contract until September 30, with free admission for the public and a capacity of 400 seats per screening, as stated in the call for expression of interest. "The response from the public has been great, which is why we are repeating the free screenings this year," Ms. Tombrou told Enimerosi. "Posters will be placed in each area where the screenings will take place to inform people, and there will also be information in the local media."
Locations
The cinema nights for film enthusiasts will take place in the following outdoor spaces in the town: Upper Square, Faliraki, San Giacomo Town Hall and Anemomilos. In the rest of the region opem-air cinemas will be set up in Sinarades, Spartyla, Kanali, Afra, Doukades, Skripero, Agios Prokopios, Kastellani, Pelekas, Sokraki, Kinopiastes, Kato. Garouna, Agii Deka, Sgourades, Gouvia - Kontokali, and more.
