CORFU. The 76-year-old owner has been forbidden from leaving the country.
The 76-year-old horse and carriage owner was released after giving a statement to the Corfu Prosecutor. Restrictive conditions have been imposed and he has been forbidden from leaving the country.
The man is accused of abuse of a work animal and the case is now proceeding to the stage of the main investigation with the charge that the horse was working while suffering from a chronic condition, pulmonary emphysema. Information suggests that the defendant is expected to request a full acquittal from the judicial council and for the case to be closed.
