Meropi Ydraiou: Our efforts have been vindicated
"It is wonderful to have our efforts vindicated. Corfu has been waiting for four decades to have an indoor training centre and years-long efforts have been vindicated today with the publishing of the invitation for tenders," said Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou.
"Corfu athletes and clubs will have the ability to train in an indoor, modern facility which had been missing from the island.
We don't have a lot to say. We have proved with our actions, however, that we are doing a lot. Corfu is changing through actions."

The Training Centre will have a seating capacity for approximately 300 spectators and a single hall that can serve basketball, volleyball, handball, track and field training, as well as all auxiliary facilities.
The surrounding area will be landscaped with the necessary planting of trees and with parking spaces.
The project, with a budget of €5.2m, will be funded by the Public Investment Programme and is part of the proposals submitted by the Municipality of Central Corfu in the "Antonis Tritsis" programme.
