LEFKIMMI. The opening ceremony was held by Mayor Meropi Ydraiou in the presence DIADEYADK΄s Board and the Mayor Kostas Lessis.
The official ceremony of the new DIADEYADK offices in South Corfu was held on Friday morning by the DIADEYADK President and Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the DIADEYAKD Board, the South Corfu Mayor Kostas Lessis and the Deputy Mayors.
The new offices are located in Lefkimmi on the regional road. As Mrs. Ydraiou emphasised, the new space is decent and functional to serve the citizens unlike the old offices which she described as a disgrace, noting that there the employees worked under horrible conditions.
"May we all be well and progress so that we can implement other major projects and create infrastructure that our country needs. These offices are the first step," she said.
Mr. Lessis
Mr. Lessis referred to the long-standing problems of the poor network, stressing that everyone should have water and inconvenience should not be caused to the citizens in the summer when the needs are increased. "The offices are good but they are not enough. We must be able to meet the needs. It is not enough just to collect money," he said, noting that there is funding and goodwill to overcome the problems of the past.
The opening ceremony also included the traditional custom of cutting the New Year's cake.
