"The idea for the festival came initially when we took part in a European programme," Department Head Andreas Yiannakoulopoulos told Enimerosi. The festival has been warmly accepted and the increasing number of entries every year along with the high quality of the films has given us great pleasure."
Openings for collaboration
The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2022 is to showcase the best animation films from around the world. It also aims to cultivate and assist in the development of the cultural heritage of animation films, to contribute to the creation of new films and offer openings for possible international collaboration as well as encourage dialogue between professionals, cinematographers and the public.
