Free medical and dental check-ups for children in North Corfu begin today

CORFU. The check-ups are part of Smile of the Child΄s ΄Ippokratis΄ Medical and Dental Preventative Programme and will be carried out in Acharavi Town Hall Square until 27 October.
The President of The Smile of the Child Kostas Yiannopoulos was present today for the start of the free medical and dental check-ups for children in North Corfu organised by The Smile of the Child in collaboration with North Corfu Municipality.
The project is part of the 'Ippokratis' Medical and Dental Preventative Programme and there will be free medical, dental, paediatric, eye, ear, nose and throat checkups for North Corfu children and teenagers in Acharavi Town Hall Square until Thursday 27 October.
Since Smile of the Child began the project in 2002 they have provided check-ups for 148,050 children. The Medical and Dental Preventative Programme operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religion and the Ministry of Health with whom The Smile of the Child signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The charitable organisation collaborates with regional and local authorities and organisations to provide quality services to children.
The programme in North Corfu is operating under the aegis of North Corfu Municipality and The Smile of the Child is also collaborating with Corfu Medical & Dental Association, Corfu General Hospital, the 6th Regional Health Authority and OPAP.
The Smile of the Child will be using its 'Ippokratis' Medical mobile unit and there will be volunteer doctors, dentists, eye specialists and ear,nose and throat specialists from Corfu Medical & Dental Association along with the charity organisation's own specialists every day.
The doctors and dentists will carry out free check-ups on all the children who come to the mobile unit after having booked an appointment by phone.
