΄Old΄ Philharmonic Society Orchestra to perform at Dodoni ancient theatre

The orchestra will be performing a world premiere of "Hymn to the Priests and Oracles of Zeus".
The 'Old' Philharmonic Society orchestra has been invited by Ioannina Municipality, Ioannina Inspectorate of Antiquities and Epirus Literature and Authors' Society to perform at the world-famous Dodoni ancient theatre on 16 July.
At the concert the orchestra will performing a world premiere of "Hymn to the Priests and Oracles of Zeus" (soloist Philipos Boubaras) with lyrics by Yiotas Partheniou and music by Kostas Lolis.
The second work was composed by the recently-deceased Mikis Theodorakis - "The Song of the Dead Brother" with Margarita Sigeniotou (soloist), Giorgos Anthis (vocals), Zacharias Gerasklis (bouzouki) and Christos Bogdanos (narrator). The 'Dimodokos' Corfu Choir will also take part, conducted by Dimitra Kalogeropoulou.
The orchestra will be conducted by Alkis Baltas, who has also arranged the two pieces.
The concert at Dodoni ancient theatre is under the aegis of the President of the Hellenic Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas.
