Road to Yaliskari open again after 15 years

Central Corfu Municipality has completed work on the old road leading to Yaliskari beach, which had been closed for 15 years, allowing locals and visitors to use it once more.

Mayor Meropi Ydraiou visited the road, accompanied by Deputy Mayor for Technical Works Nikos Kalogeros, as part of her general inspection of roadworks being carried out in the municipal districts.



Repair work was completed yesterday on the section of road between Sinarades and Konto Yialo (Yialiskari). The work is part of the Municipality programme 'Road maintenance and repair work in the districts of Achillion, Paleokastritsa and Parelia' with a budget of €1.7m.

Mayor Meropi Ydraiou said that the work brings an end to the years-long problem of accessibilty and added that the Municipality will continue with the repair and maintenance of roads in all districts. The Deputy Mayor for Technical Works Nikos Kalogeros said that the local authority is working to resolve the problems that have existed for years.
