CORFU. Ionian Islands Regional Administration organised a sea and shore clean-up today for EU Green Week 30/5-5/6 and World Environment Day.
The Ionian Islands Regional Administration organised a sea and shore clean-up at NAOK today for EU Green Week 30/5-5/6 and World Environment Day.
The Coastguard and NAOK administration took part in the "Cleaning Up the Sea" project along with volunteer divers, the local branch of the Greek Guiding Association and local scouts
The Deputy Regional Governor for the Environment said that the clean-up is one of a series of activities on all the Ionian Islands. One of these will be a talk from lecturer Michalis Skoulos on "Tourism and development without plastics" at Corfu Chamber of Commerce at 11:00 on Friday.
The week will close with a special event at Mon Repos Palace on Sunday 5 June from 09:30 to 11:30, which is being co-organised with the Trekking and Mountaineering Association and Corfu Tourist Guides Association, with a guided tour of the Mon Repos natural habitat.
