CORFU. A concert with ecclesiastical music inspired by The Passion took place on Holy Monday.
Kynopiastes Philharmonic Society performed a concert at the Catholic Cathedral (Duomo) on Monday night.
The orchestra was conducted by Spyros Nikas and the performance included works by Corfu composers Stefanos Dolianitis, Giorgos Peroulis and Michalis Michalopoulos as well as works by Bach, Mozart, Frank and Albinoni.
The Marcia Funebre "Lacrime" by the Italian composer Vito Giammarinaro was performed for the first time in Corfu.
Soloists were the acclaimed Corfu baritone Pantelis Kontos and Spyridon Nikas on horn.
