ATHENS. EODY announced 23,748 laboratory confirmed new cases on Wednesday 16 March - including 260 in Corfu.
EODY announced that there were 23,748 confirmed new cases today. 23 cases were detected at entry points.
The total number of cases in Greece is now 2,708,610, of which 49.3% are males. Over the last 7 days, 211 of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 1,564 are connected with known cases.
There were 44 deaths today taking the total number of fatalities to 26,730. 95.2% of these had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
354 patients are intubated in ICUs. 227 (64.12%) of intubated patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, 127 (35.88%) are completely vaccinated. The average age is 69 and 90.7% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 4,373 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The number of new hospital admissions is 345 (+16.55%) and the average number of admissions throughout the country over the last 7 days is 303.
