CORFU. More Covid cases amongst pupils and teachers were recorded today.
According to the Ionian Islands Regional Education Department, 42 pupils and 4 teachers tested positive for Covid today - 24 primary school pupils and 4 teachers as well as 18 secondary school pupils and one teacher.
Pupils had to produce negative self test results today to be admitted to classes - the third time in the first week of school. From next week, this procedure will be followed twice a week - on Tuesday and Friday.
Up to now, no classes have been suspended.
In the first week of the new school term, there have been 318 cases amongst pupils and 60 amongst teachers, the majority of which were recorded on the first day following the Christmas break.
