Meropi Ydraiou announces water supply projects for the whole island with budget of over €6m

CORFU. The projects will cover the north, south and centre of the island and will be completed in 18-24 months.

The Public Water Company (DIADEYAK) has already put out to tender major works to improve the water supply infrastructure throughout the island with a budget of over €6m.

The projects will be completed in 18-24 months and will include replacement of water supply networks, pipe construction, definition and delineation of zones and protective measures as well as exploratory drillings and hydrogeological surveys.

This was announced by Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou at a press conference today.

The budget for the 9 projects that have recently put to tender is €6,162,785.

Projects

1. Reinforcement of Ipsos and Barbati water supply from Paliohorafa drillings. €794,619

2. Replacement of Alykes Potamos water supply network. €333,929

3. Exploratory drillings and hydrogeological surveys in North Corfu. €484,484

4. Replacement of North Corfu water supply network. €580,954

5. Replacement of South Corfu water supply network. €843,488
