CORFU. The Archbishop said that some people want to poison people΄s souls.
Corfu Metropolitan Church cut its New Year's Cake with the Catholic Archbishop Georgios Altuvas and representatives from the local authority in attendance. Archbishop Nektarios said, "From the bottom of my heart I would like to wish for you all that 2022 is very different from the past year and full of the Grace of God.
"That the planet and not just Greece will not be full of sadness, illness and crises. This can happen because even if, as the Lord says, our belief is as small as a mustard seed in our heart, it is very strong and anything can happen."
The Archbishop also referred to the scientist Elias Mosialos, whose recent humorous post upset a lot of believers. "There are many who mock our beliefs, whether it be Mosialos or anyone else, and at this holy time want to poison people's souls. But, dear brothers and sisters, we must not pay attention to the small mindedness of some people. We must take succour from the Grace of God, who took the form of a man for mankind."
The Catholic Archbishop, Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa and the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou also wished everyone a Happy New Year.
