CORFU. Graffiti is once again being removed from public areas in Corfu Town.
Graffiti is once again being removed from walls in Corfu Town - a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Central Corfu Municipality has contracted out the work with a budget of €4,798 (including 24% VAT).
Monuments and public areas are being cleaned up for the umpteenth time, removing the graffiti created by people who seem to have no respect for the town in which they live.
This work has been done in the past on the initiative of Corfu Chamber of Commerce and the volunteers at All Together for the Corfu Environment, led by Spyros Neratzis.
The question is, however, how long will it remain clean?
The Municipal supervisor responsible for the work told Enimerosi that they will be cleaning up the walls around the Municipal Theatre and next to NAOK as well as around the Capodistrias statue, the main square and wherever else it is required.
