Installation of special needs facilities completed to create accessible beaches in Corfu

CORFU. The project is part of the "Creation of Integrated Accessible Tourist Beach Resorts" programme.
Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality has completed the "Creation of Integrated Accessible Tourist Beach Resorts" project, which is part of the "Competitiveness, Enterprise and Innovation 2014-2020" programme.
Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras said that, as part of the project, 3 Seatrack facilities have been installed at the Sailing Club, Acharavi in North Corfu and Bouka in Lefkimmi. An audio system has also been installed forthe visually challenged at NAOK.
All the equipment has been tested and stored for next summer. This means that there will be another four accessible beaches next summer.
The three existing seatrack facilities in Paleokastritsa, Ipsos and Dassia will remain in place until the end of October.
In addition to the aforementioned infrastructure, the Municipality acquired two mobile toilets, tracks made of recycled plastic which are easily transported and stored in the winter, special signs and waste bins.
