When German tourists return after their holidays in Greece they will now have to have taken a test and if it isn΄t negative, go into quarantine.
Germany has reviewed its travel policies for the 4th wave of the pandemic and has now added Greece, Netherlands and parts of Denmark to its red list. The newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung has reported the announcement by the Robert Koch Institute - the equivalent of EODY in Greece.
The reason for this development is the increasing numbers of cases especially the Delta Variant. The German Foreign Ministry now advises against travel to these countries and regions.
This decision will most probably have a direct impact on Corfu tourism where, up to now, Germany has been No.1 on the list of international passengers arriving at Corfu Airport.
Those returning to Germany from The Netherlands and Denmark who are not vaccinated or haven't recovered from Covid have to take a test.
It is already mandatory for those returning from Portugal and Cyprus who are not vaccinated or haven't recovered from Covid to go into quarantine for 5-10 days.
