Two tourists injured in Sidari and Paxos

CORFU. A young tourist was injured in Sidari after falling in a rocky area with limited access.
Two serious incidents with injuries occurred on Sunday afternoon.
One accident took place at Canal d’Amour in Sidari, North Corfu, when a 35-year-old Welsh tourist, who was there with his family, was injured after diving into a rocky area with limited access. Swimmers who were nearby rushed over with an inflatable boat and pulled him out. The rescue operation was immediate, involving two vehicles and six firefighters from the Thinalia Fire Station. They safely immobilised the injured man and transferred him on a stretcher to a more accessible location, from where he was picked up by an Ionian Care ambulance in serious condition and taken to the hospital. He is currently hospitalised with a neck injury.
Paxos. On Paxos island, a 60-year-old woman was injured in the “Trypito” area while hiking. The Fire Department was mobilised to transport her to a location where she received first aid.
