Corfu MP Stefanos Gikas announces additional staffing of health facilities

CORFU. Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas announced the filling of the doctor’s post in Othoni, which has often remained vacant and been staffed by military service doctors.
He also announced the additional staffing of Health Centres in Corfu with nurses and said that vacancies for permanent doctors at Corfu Hospital have been advertised.
In his statement Stefanos Gikas said:
- The 6th Health Region approved the filling of the vacancies in the Othoni Surgery and a doctor will take over immediately.
- The Health Centres in Corfu Region recruit a total of 9 nurses (4 in Corfu Health Centre, 2 in Agios Athanasios Health Centre, 1 in Lefkimmi Health Centre, 1 in Agios Markos Health Centre and 1 in Paxos Health Centre).
-The Ministry of Health will be announcing vacancies for 3 permanent doctors at Corfu Hospital in the next few days). Namely: Supervising Orthopaedic Doctor, Supervising Nephrologist and Supervising General Practitioner.
The MP added, “It should be noted that in the March 13 other permanent positions for permanent doctors were provided for in the National Health System in Corfu. Our efforts to strengthen the Health Facilities continues.”
