Man accused of pawn shop armed robbery remanded in custody

CORFU. The man arrested for armed robbery at a pawn shop in Corfu Town appeared before the Public Prosecutor yesterday.
The Prosecutor ordered that the man be remanded in custody.
The robbery took place on Thursday night when the perpetrator, threatening the owner with a gun, took €3,000 in cash and some jewelry.
The man was arrested the following day and police found the following items well-hidden in a small copse near the scene of the robbery: some of the missing jewelry, €2,975, insulation tape, a Covid-19 cotton mask, a cap, a track suit and a replica weapon.
