Gouvia summer camp to open again

CORFU. The camp can accommodate 280 people - 190 children, 20 special needs and 70 senior citizens.
The 'Stamatios Desyllas' summer camp in Gouvia will open again this year following a unanimous vote at the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipal Council meeting. The came after a presentation by Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras.
The camp didn't open last year due to the pandemic.
The camp can accommodate 280 people - 190 children aged 6-16, 20 special needs and 70 senior citizens.
Categories of campers
Those who can stay at the free camp are as follows:
1. Children aged 6-16 except those with infectious diseases and mental illnesses.
Children with special needs with a medical certificate stating that their condition allows it.
2. Senior citizens whether or not they visit Senior Citizens' Centres (KAPI) who have financial difficulties, are alone and have a medical certificate to say that their condition allows it.
3. Adults with special needs with a medical certificate to say that their condition allows it.
Information about when applications can be submitted will be announced shortly.
