Masks no longer mandatory outdoors from Thursday 24 June

ATHENS. From tomorrow, Thursday 24 June, it will no longer be mandatory to wear a mask outdoors when there is not a lot of people together.

The announcement was made by Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias. Following the recommendations of the Committee of Experts, Mr. Hardalias said that the government has decided to continue with the mandatory use of masks in indoor spaces without exception and outdoors when there are crowds of people. The new measure comes into force tomorrow, Thursday at 05:00.

Curfew ends on Monday

The Deputy Minister also announced that the final lockdown measure, which was implemented to combat the third wave, is also being lifted. From Monday 28 June there will no longer be a curfew. Until Monday the curfew from 01:30 to 05:00 will remain in place.
