Ambulance workers say defibrillators in public places save lives

CORFU. Following the incident with the footballer Eriksen, Corfu ambulance workers are calling on the state and the municipality to make defibrillators available.
Following yet another example of sudden cardiac arrest, that of the footballer Christian Eriksen during a match, Corfu Ambulance Workers' Union is calling on the Central, North and South Corfu Municipalities to purchase and place automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
In a statement signed by President Christos Kypriotis and Secretary Gerasimos Roditis, the union says: "Our hands in cooperation with a defibrillator and proper training can save a life!
We call on you to proceed in this matter and are available for any type of cooperation and assistance!
There is no time for delay in the case of cardiac arrest - there needs to be a sppedy response..."
