CORFU. 30 secondary school teachers attended a seminar by the Ambulance Service (EKAB) on how to use defibrillators.

The Ambulance Service (EKAB) gave its first seminar at the Municipal Theatre today to teachers on how to use the defibrillators which have been installed at all Central Corfu secondary schools.

Four EKAB paramedics gave the training to the first 30 secondary school teachers who expressed an interest. The seminars provide important hands-on training in how to respond to cardiac incidents in the crucial first few minutes until an ambulance arrives. The participating teachers will all receive a certificate.

There will be more trainings for the other teachers.

The seminars are being organised by Central Corfu Municipality in collaboration with EKAB. The President of the Schools Committee Kostas Kostalis attended the seminar along with the Municipal Councillor responsible for education Maria Zervou, Deputy Mayor for Public Health Spyros Poulis and Mayor Meropi Ydraiou.
