Private company to conduct Covid checks at Corfu entry points

CORFU. The Civil Protection service has commissioned a private company based in Patra to conduct rapid tests on arrivals in Corfu.
According to Corfu Port Authority managing director Spyros Zervopoulos, the Mobile Health Unit (KOMY) has now been set up at Corfu Port to test passengers arriving from Italy.
There has been a similar team at Corfu Airport since mid-May. Last year, when tests were conducted in Corfu and the whole of Greece for the first time, they were conducted by EODY teams.
This year the Civil Protection service has signed a contract with a private company based in Patra to conduct the tests at the ports in Corfu, Igoumenitsa and Patra as well as Corfu Airport.
The company told ERT Ioannina that the contract runs until the beginning of October and they will be conducting rapid tests in accordance with the current protocols.
Passengers that have been fully vaccinated will not be tested and random tests will be conducted on the remainder depending on the information on their PLF - in Igoumenitsa the Port Authority will be responsible for separating the passengers.
