CORFU. "If you continue not to care about the lives of your fellow citizens and the economy of a whole district in your Municipality, you΄ll have us to deal with."

In their letter to the Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris tourist accommodation owners in Agios Giorgios Pagon - Armenades state that the roads that were already in a poor condition have become even worse. "It's in your hands to protect the residents and visitors in our district from the dangers on these roads - if the problems aren't solved immediately and permanently, there will be serious accidents," they stress.

The letter from the Association of Agios Giorgios Pagon - Armenades Tourist Accommodation Owners:

Dear Mr. Mayor,

Following our previous two letters dated 14/2/20 and 21/10/20, we are once again bringing up the matter of the terrible condition of the roads in our district. It may seem that we are annoyingly persistent, but we have no other way to protest about the worsening condition of our roads.

Unfortunately, despite our protests and requests, the roads leading to Agios Giorgios - from Kavadades towards the beach and Kastellano Messi - Arkadades - Agros - Aspiotades - Manatades - Agios Giorgios beach - are in a tragic condition.

Things are especially bad on the Aspiotades - Manatades - Agios Giorgios road, where the road surfaceis in even worse condition than it was before as the roadworks that the Municipality began were left half-done and the road is now damaged and dangerous.

Matters have now come to a head and it is in your hands to protect the residents and visitors in our district from the dangers on these roads - if the problems aren't solved immediately and permanently, there will be serious accidents.

If, however, you continue not to care about the lives of your fellow citizens and the economy of a whole district in your Municipality, you'll have us to deal with - starting with association members protesting outside the Town Hall in a few days.
